Good Monday and welcome to the last week of March. This has been a wild weather month and that trend was very evident on Sunday. Severe thunderstorms with temps in the 30s and 40s isn’t a combo you see very often, yet, that’s what mother nature delivered to parts of the state. That’s the weather pattern we’ve living in… nothing is normal.<\/p>\n

Speaking of abnormal… snow will blanket much of the bluegrass state today through Tuesday.\u00a0 Let’s break it all down…<\/p>\n

– Wraparound snows will be widespread across the state today as our storm system weakens out across the eastern Ohio Valley.<\/p>\n

– Some accumulating snows are likely today… especially on elevated and grassy surfaces. Where it snows hard enough, slick spots can develop on area roads.<\/p>\n

– It’s tonight into early Tuesday that I expect travel conditions to become more of an issue. This is when more in the way of sticking snow will be noted across the entire region. A general inch or two with local 3 amounts will be possible. Parts of southeastern Kentucky will do better than that with 4″+ a possibility through Tomorrow.<\/p>\n

– Winds are going to crank with gusts of 35mph possible as cold air continues to funnel into the region.<\/p>\n

– For the record… I do expect several school delays and cancellations on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
