It&#8217;s eclipse day, but we have to fight our way through some clouds and that may be a task for some areas. The main focus of the forecast is on a lot of rain coming over the next few days. Rounds of storms will lead to flooding concerns through Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Temps today reach 70-75 in many areas as the clouds try to break. There&#8217;s still the chance for a few scattered showers and storms around, especially early today across central and eastern Kentucky. This comes at us ahead of a potent storm system that wraps up and lifts from the lower Mississippi Valley through the western Ohio Valley and into the Great Lakes by Friday.<\/p>\n<p>This system brings the threat for strong storms and a lot of rain&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-64716 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That run of the EURO is on the low side of the model spectrum in terms of rainfall. Still, this run has a general 1&#8243;-3&#8243; of rain with locally higher amounts by Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-64721\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"973\" height=\"753\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7.png 973w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7-300x232.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-7-768x594.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 973px) 100vw, 973px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS is showing quite a few areas of 3&#8243;-5&#8243; rain amounts during this time&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GFS-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-64722\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GFS-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"966\" height=\"760\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GFS-1.png 966w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GFS-1-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/GFS-1-768x604.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 966px) 100vw, 966px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Model is also seeing 3&#8243;-5&#8243; amounts during this time but is focusing all this a bit farther east than the GFS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Canadian-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-64720\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Canadian-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"968\" height=\"757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Canadian-1.png 968w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Canadian-1-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Canadian-1-768x601.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 968px) 100vw, 968px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Flooding concerns are there for the rest of the week, especially Wednesday through early Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Colder winds will kick in behind that departing storm system for Friday, but the temps bounce back quickly toward 70 over the weekend. That will be ahead of another potential stormy look early next week&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-2-5.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-64715\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/EURO-2-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Folks, this is a REALLY wet and stormy pattern from the Ohio Valley to the lower Mississippi Valley for the next 10-14 days, at least.
