Good Monday, everyone. It’s another awesome weather day across the region as we get set to flip the pattern around later this week. That’s when some typical summer sizzle shows up, likely brining the first 90 degree temps of the year.<\/p>\n

Today’s highs are in the low and middle 70s across the eastern half of the state. A few locations may even hang out in the upper 60s to around 70 with some clouds filtering in. Those clouds may spawn an isolated shower or two. Here’s your Kentucky radar to follow along…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

With clearing skies tonight, temps are likely to drop into the 40s for many areas…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Some areas of fog will also be noted with temps in those areas likely staying in the 50s.<\/p>\n

Highs Tuesday will be back into the 70s with another awesome sky taking shape.<\/p>\n

We inch closer to normal Wednesday with normal numbers on Thursday.<\/p>\n

From there, we see temps surging into the upper 80s to around 90 for the weekend. One thing to keep in mind is the wet ground and lush vegetation that will temper the temperatures. This is something the models don’t really see, so the numbers coming from them are likely to be way too high.<\/p>\n

The GFS Ensembles look much more realistic than the other Ensembles for the weekend. They are showing widespread upper 80s with a few low 90s…<\/p>\n

The EURO Ensembles are likely way way too hot…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

So are the Canadian Ensembles, but not by as much…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There’s a weak cold front dropping in here to start the weekend and this may touch off\u00a0 scattered storms.<\/p>\n

We will also see the Gulf of Mexico lighting up with all kinds of energy and moisture. Of course, that doesn’t mean these become tropical systems, but the moisture from those may snake toward Kentucky early next week.<\/p>\n

The EURO has been showing this for several runs in a row…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Control Run of the EURO Ensembles shows several systems bringing moisture up the lower Mississippi Valley and into the Ohio Valley during this same time…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Water temperatures across the Atlantic basin are absolutely on fire right now and this goes for the Gulf of Mexico…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With water temps that far above normal, any system developing in the Gulf can get cranking pretty easily.<\/p>\n
