The first full weekend of September is feeling the part of a mid-October weekend here in Kentucky. Temps are well below normal and may make a run at record lows tonight and early Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Our fall cold front is exiting southeastern Kentucky very early this morning, taking any leftover showers or storms with it. Humidity levels will also be very low and this will combine with clearing overnight skies to produce record or near record lows across Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>Low and mid 40s are likely with the outside chance for the coldest valleys to dip into the upper 30s. This nice stuff carries over into Monday as temps rebound some with a greater rebound for the middle of the week.<\/p>\n<p>What happens from here will be determined by something trying to develop down in the Gulf of Mexico. That&#8217;s a system the National Hurricane Center is giving a decent chance to develop&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/xgtwo\/two_atl_7d0.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some of the recent model runs have been trying to take whatever develops down there and bring it northward toward us by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>The AI version of the EURO has been consistently showing this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/EURO-5.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66174\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/EURO-5.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many of the operational models are now coming around to something similar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>CANADIAN<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Canadian-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66179\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/Canadian-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This has the potential to bring healthy rains into our region later in the week, but there&#8217;s nothing with tropical systems that are slam dunks.<\/p>\n<p>Looking longer range, the trend on the Ensembles is to bring another big dip in the jet stream late in week two.
