Good Monday and welcome to the first full week of May. The weather over the past few days has been nothing short of ugly with heavy rain and chilly temps. We will slowly come work back into a typical May pattern for the middle and end of the week. That may come with a stormy price as we crank up the thunder machine. Oh.. and we are tracking the potential for another shot of chill.<\/p>\n
Let’ start with today and the upper level low that’s pulling away. This thing is still close enough to give us scattered showers and a possible rumble of thunder. Temps will be in the 50s for areas socked in the clouds and showers. If you can get a few rays of sun… your thermometer will hit the low 60s.<\/p>\n
Tuesday will feature more of a broken sky with a scattered shower or thunderstorm. Highs will hit the upper 60s to around 70.<\/p>\n
Much warmer air pushes in for Wednesday and we are going to jack up the humidity and instability. This will lead to an increasing threat for thunderstorms for the end of the week into the weekend. Check out GFS…<\/p>\n
That’s a pretty juicy air mass, so these storms may produce additional heavy rains that will need to be watched. Can we finally get in on some strong storms? We shall see.<\/p>\n There’s another strong cold front diving into the plains states to start the weekend.
