Francine continues to weaken as the remnant low heads closer to our region. This brings spiraling bands of showers and storms across parts of Kentucky over the next few days with another system of interest showing up by early next week.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s kick this off with the latest on Francine from the National Hurricane Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT06\/refresh\/AL062024_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/213729.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With this system only getting into western Tennessee before slowing down, it means we still see one heck of a rainfall gradient showing up across Kentucky. Areas of the north and east may not see much rain at all, if any. Farther west, several inches of rain may fall.<\/p>\n<p>The first bands of showers and storms spin into the south and west late this afternoon and evening. From there, here&#8217;s what I&#8217;m expecting tonight into Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1-MAP.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66229\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1-MAP.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"818\" height=\"457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1-MAP.jpg 818w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1-MAP-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/1-MAP-768x429.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 818px) 100vw, 818px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Again, there&#8217;s going to be a sharp gradient from storms to zero rain and that sets up somewhere across the north and east.<\/p>\n<p>As this system continues to weaken across Tennessee, the focus on showers and storms will push a bit to the west&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2-MAP.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66230\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2-MAP.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"816\" height=\"457\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2-MAP.jpg 816w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2-MAP-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/2-MAP-768x430.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 816px) 100vw, 816px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since we are dealing with spiraling bands of showers and storms, some hefty totals will likely show up in narrow corridors.
