We&#8217;ve made it to the end of the week and into the start of the first weekend of October, For the most part, the weekend is very mild and dry, but a crisp cold front changes that in a hurry by Sunday night and Monday. That&#8217;s when a seasonable brand of chill invades the region.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s temps are mainly in the in the 75-80 degree range with a spot of two coming on a bit above.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s a little bit of moisture pushing across southeastern Kentucky and that means the chance for a shower or storm to go up. Here are your Kentucky Weather radars to track whatever shows up\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The weekend has a lot of mid-September in it with highs ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s another cold front ready to slam in here Sunday night and this will have a broken band of showers and storms across the eastern part of the state, especially.<\/p>\n<p>Most folks look to stay dry&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-3.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66572\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-3.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll get to the chill coming in behind that in just a second, but I want to update you on the slow development in the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center continues to watch this area&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/xgtwo\/two_atl_7d0.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That should eventually develop into a named storm in the coming days and it&#8217;s likely to hang around the eastern Gulf for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Watch how the EURO brings the Sunday front through and keeps whatever is in the Gulf spinning&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66567\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t be surprised if we actually see a couple of systems out of this same disturbed area.<\/p>\n<p>For us, the pattern takes our temps below normal from Monday through next weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Check out the temperature departures from the EURO&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66568\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/EURO-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian is even deeper into the below normal range&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66573\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian-1.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That model even gives us an outside shot at some patchy frost later next week&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-66570\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"965\" height=\"757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian.png 965w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/10\/Canadian-768x602.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 965px) 100vw, 965px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not convinced of that just yet.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS is having a number of issues with this pattern, so it&#8217;s not really a model seeing things very well at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy your Friday and take care.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Good Friday, folks.
