Rounds of showers and storms have been rolling across the bluegrass since Thursday morning and those storms will continue for the next several days. The timing on this pattern doesn&#8217;t spell the best of news for those of us hoping for a weekend of wonderful weather.<\/p>\n<p>A stalled out front continues to be draped across the region today and this will help fire off additional showers and storms. The best coverage on the boomers will be during the afternoon and evening hours. Locally heavy rainfall, tremendous lightning and small hail will be possible.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A little impulse moves in by Saturday and that looks to add a little more lift to the atmosphere. That may lead to a greater coverage of the showers and thunderstorms and that shows up well on the GFS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/GFS6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6695\" alt=\"GFS\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/GFS6.png\" width=\"619\" height=\"259\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/GFS6.png 619w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/GFS6-300x125.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 619px) 100vw, 619px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With a fairly light flow aloft and a juicy atmosphere&#8230; the heavy rain threat will need to be watched. Another round or two of storms will be possible through Sunday. The threat for showers and thunderstorms will come down a bit for those days.
