Showers and storms are rumbling across parts of Kentucky today as a cold front sweeps in from the west. This will slow down and keep some showers and storms going through Thursday with a bigger system for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This is all part of the active setup I&#8217;ve been talking about for a while now. Pockets of heavy rain will continue to be noted.<\/p>\n<p>Hurricane Rafael is ready to slam into western Cuba later today as it heads toward the northwest and into the Gulf of Mexico. The National Hurricane Center continues to forecast some weakening of this system as it nears the Louisiana coast this weekend&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nhc.noaa.gov\/storm_graphics\/AT18\/refresh\/AL182024_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind+png\/234412_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png\" alt=\"cone graphic\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With a slower movement in the Gulf, the system coming in from the Plains probably won&#8217;t pick this thing up as it moves through here.
