A summer blast of air continues to blow into the bluegrass state. Gusty southwesterly winds have been common over the past few days and will be around again today. This summer pattern is not setting in and will give way to one that becomes stormy over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Temps today will be back into the mid and upper 80s. Wind gusts of 20-30mph may be noted for some. You will notice a bit more humidity in the mix and this may spawn a popcorn shower or thunderstorm during the heat of the afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Humidity levels will really rise by Thursday and that&#8217;s when we get into a better shot at a shower or storm. Those storm chances ramp up by Friday. That&#8217;s when we get a strong cold front to move into our part of the world. Storms ahead of this front may be on the strong side and they put down some heft rainfall.<\/p>\n<p>Much cooler air will then push in behind the front. Seeing a trend here?<\/p>\n<p>In my last update, I mentioned how the pattern looks active into early June.
