Good Thursday, folks. Our summer pattern is slowly giving way to a stormy one that will carry us into the first part of June. Showers and storms will be rather scattered early today, but will ramp up a notch later today into Friday and then again for the upcoming weekend. That’s when some of the storms may become strong or severe.<\/p>\n

Very warm and humid weather will persist today with highs back into the mid and upper 80s. The highest chances will be across the central and western parts of the state. Here’s your regional radar…<\/p>\n

Moisture continues to move our way from the western Gulf of Mexico. This will lead to an increase in scattered storms into Friday and the models are getting pretty wet for the western half of the state. Take a look at the impressive rain totals from the GFS through Friday…<\/p>\n

There’s a good supply of moisture and the heavy rain threat will need to be monitored over the next few days and into the weekend. We may also get a strong storm or two to blow up today and Friday. A better threat for strong and severe thunderstorms will be with us over the weekend. That’s when a powerful cold front works our way from the west…<\/p>\n
