Good evening, folks. Rain is rapidly increasing as we eye the potential for a light snowfall for parts of Kentucky by the middle of the week. This is a setup we’ve been watching for a while now, but the models still have a pretty hefty spread of solutions showing up.<\/p>\n

Here’s how things are looking right now for the potential of a light snowfall Tuesday night into Wednesday…<\/p>\n

The greatest risk area is likely across eastern Kentucky with that risk dropping to super duper low across the western half of the state.<\/p>\n

The latest short-range Canadian continues to offer up the best chance for a more widespread light snow event…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Here’s the snowfall forecast from that run…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The latest EURO has increased the potential by a bit compared to earlier runs…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The GFS still likes a nice event in the southeast…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Short Range Ensemble Forecast consists of 21 different members and the SREF is now the most widespread and heaviest of any models…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The single run of the SREF is probably skewing that…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As of now, those models are the outlier in terms of amounts and how far west things are.\u00a0 They do not have any other model support at this time, but they are duly noted in case we see any other data joining in on that fun,<\/p>\n
