Good Saturday, everyone. We have a couple of healthy rainmakers rolling into the region over the next few days as our active pattern keeps on trucking. By the time we hit the middle and end of next week, we will be seeing Old Man Winter returning to the region.<\/p>\n

Let’s kick things off with what’s going on out there today.<\/p>\n

Clouds are thickening out there today with temps in the 20s to start and upper 40s to low 50s this afternoon. Rain pushes into western Kentucky this afternoon and overspreads the rest of the state this evening. That rain then continues tonight and into parts of Sunday. There’s even the chance for a rumble of thunder.<\/p>\n

That’s followed up by another rain system moving in Monday and exiting the region early Tuesday. Between now and Tuesday morning, a good 1″-2″ of rain should fall across the state. Here’s a look at what some of the models are suggesting…<\/p>\n

A stronger cold front then moves in late Wednesday with rain behind it and the chance for this to switch over to some light snow late Wednesday into Thursday. That’s especially true if we can get an area of low pressure to develop along it.<\/p>\n

The overnight model runs weren’t quite as optimistic on the light snow behind that Thursday system or quite as enthusiastic with the weekend light snow potential…<\/p>\n

Again, we will likely see more big model swings with this setup before they settle in on what kind of snow potential we will be seeing.<\/p>\n

They still agree on the very cold pattern with the Canadian still the coldest of the bunch…<\/p>\n
