Good afternoon, gang. It’s a dreary day across Kentucky and this is a sign of things to come for the next several days. Rounds of heavy rain continue to target the region during this period with a change to winter to follow. How deep of a winter change is still up in the air.<\/p>\n

Another heavy rain maker rolls in late tonight into Monday and takes us through Monday night. After a small break, another heavy rain maker rolls in Tuesday night and Wednesday. The models are showing some hefty rainfall numbers in addition to what we’ve already picked up this weekend.<\/p>\n

The GFS through Wednesday has a corridor of 1″-3″ rains for many…<\/p>\n

The EURO is a little lighter, but still spits out heavy rains…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

That system pulls away and we still have quite the model spread on how deep the winter blast is coming behind it. The EURO is the steadiest model right now as the GFS and Canadian are likely too progressive and are bouncing around from run to run.<\/p>\n

The EURO shows the chance for some flakes behind the departing Wednesday system with a healthy clipper diving into the eastern US by Friday. That could bring a period of light snow and snow showers to be followed by very cold temps and some weekend snow showers, especially if our flow comes off Lake Michigan…<\/p>\n

The EURO then picks up on the light snow potential Christmas Eve and Day…<\/p>\n

In order to get that light snow threat for Christmas, we have to have the trough in the east to be as deep as the EURO is showing.<\/p>\n

Speaking of a deep trough, the EURO shows much colder than normal temps hanging around through Christmas…<\/p>\n
