A few showers continue to roll across parts of Kentucky on this big day and we have a lot more rain to go. Once we get through the wet weather portion of the forecast, winter weather fans can rejoice.<\/p>\n<p>Showers today have been much more prominent in the west with just scattered stuff farther east. Here are your Christmas evening radars to follow the drops\u2026<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/builder.zoomradar.net\/zoomradar_weather_map\/weather_page.php?key=dlFZs5IY4VCw7bK\" width=\"560\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"jetpack-lazy-image jetpack-lazy-image--handled lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" alt=\"\" usemap=\"#largemap\" data-src=\"https:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" data-lazy-loaded=\"1\" \/><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A stray shower or two will be around on Thursday as the mild temps continue. This will be followed by two storm systems for the weekend with the first arriving with showers and storms Friday and Friday night. The second one then rolls in later Saturday into Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The track on this second system is up for debate as the EURO has trended a little colder and farther east with it. Here&#8217;s the EURO with both weekend systems&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/EURO-45.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68359\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/EURO-45.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Regardless, the potential is there for a general 1&#8243;-3&#8243; of rain Friday through Sunday with amounts of 4&#8243; or more possible. This would be enough to cause local high water concerns, at least. Here&#8217;s the area I&#8217;m outlining right out of the gate&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68363\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7.png 1000w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7-300x180.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7-768x461.png 768w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7-627x376.png 627w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/SPECIAL-MAP-7-440x264.png 440w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The system for New Year&#8217;s Eve will bring another round of rain and gusty winds with it, but the temps come way down behind this for New Year&#8217;s Day. Some flurries and snow showers may follow this system to start 2025&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/EURO-2-25.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68357\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/EURO-2-25.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From there, the pattern transitions toward a very cold one during the first week of January with winter weather threats increasing during this time. How those winter weather threats show up cannot be determined from this far out and every model will show something different from one run to the next.<\/p>\n<p>Still, we like to look at them to determine trends.
