It&#8217;s a full-blown winter pattern taking shape and it&#8217;s likely to go harsh into much of January. Things will kick off with flakes for day one and from there, we watch the increasing potential for accumulating snows and bitterly cold temps.<\/p>\n<p>Low pressure rolls in here for New Year&#8217;s Eve with gusty showers and even an early day rumble of thunder. Winds will gust to 30-35mph at times with colder air crashing in during the evening. That means the chance for some flakes mixing with rain will be with us as the clock strikes midnight.<\/p>\n<p>The future radar from the HRRR then shows snow showers and flurries kicking into high gear into New Year&#8217;s Day&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/hrrr-14.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-68530\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/hrrr-14.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Temps tank with this as wind chills go in the tank.
