<\/p>\nGood afternoon, everyone. Our winter storm continues to ramp up the snow from southwest to northeast across Kentucky this afternoon with several inches possible. I wanted to drop by to look at what comes after this storm… Which is more harsh winter weather.<\/p>\n
There’s not a lot more I can add about today’s storm. A general 3″-6″ of snow will fall through Saturday across Kentucky. Road conditions will go downhill very quickly as the snow moves into any one location.<\/p>\n
Winter Storm Warnings continue for most of the region…<\/p>\n

Light snow and snow showers will be common Saturday across central and eastern Kentucky as our storm pulls away. That leave a decent Sunday before we get into a series of clippers dropping in from the northwest.<\/p>\n
These clippers will put down light accumulating snows from Sunday night through Wednesday, at least.<\/p>\n
The Canadian Model is trying to get a little stronger with the Wednesday clipper. This animation goes from Sunday night through Thursday morning…<\/p>\n
The GFS isn’t as stout with that next clipper, but it’s showing it pretty well…<\/p>\n Temps behind this first clipper tank Monday into Monday night. Wind chills should go below zero by Tuesday morning…<\/p>\n Actual low temps may go below zero by Wednesday and Thursday mornings…<\/p>\n Wind chills for Wednesday and Thursday mornings may be double digits below zero in some areas…<\/p>\n The pattern should relax for a few days late next week into the start of the weekend and it might even rain just ahead of the next harsh winter pattern settling in. An arctic boundary looks pretty active as it moves through here and slows down to our east and southeast.<\/p>\n That should allow waves of low pressure to develop along it, bringing potential significant winter weather into our region.<\/p>\n The AI Euro doesn’t show precipitation type but you can see it showing the above scenario…<\/p>\n The Canadian…<\/p>\n GFS<\/p>\n I will have updates on WKYT-TV through the day with full team coverage starting at 4pm.
