Good Friday, everyone. High humidity, warm temps and a daily threat for afternoon or evening thunderstorms. That sounds pretty tropical to me. The only thing missing out of all this? The beach. \ud83d\ude42 This is a pattern that looks to hang tough into the first half of next week. That’s when a big pattern change is being advertised on many of the forecast models.<\/p>\n
Today’s weather will feature temps in the middle 80s for the eastern half of the state with low 90s across the west. Please disregard to the daytime temps coming from the official Lexington thermometer at Blue Grass Airport. Something has happened to it over the past month and it’s spitting out temps way to warm. This is going to become a major rant if it doesn’t get corrected soon because it is corrupting historical data for the city.<\/p>\n
Scattered storms will develop in the afternoon and evening hours. Any storm that goes up will be a slow mover and may be on the strong side…<\/p>\n
The setup this weekend will make it feel even more tropical as our winds come from the western and central Gulf of Mexico…<\/p>\n That will continue to keep the core of the hottest air well to our west. This will keep us in the tropical atmosphere until some big changes take place by the end of next week into the following weekend.
