<\/p>\nGood afternoon, everyone. Snow continues across central and eastern Kentucky but this will be tapering off by evening. Once the snow slows, brutally cold temps surge into the Commonwealth for the next several days.<\/p>\n
Winter Weather Advisories and a Winter Storm Warning are still out for the region…<\/p>\n
So far, this snow system has behaved about how I expected and that goes for the overachiever in parts of central Kentucky to the underachiever in the far southeast, so far.<\/p>\n
Actual low temps tonight head toward -5 to 5 for just about all of Kentucky…<\/p>\n
Temps by Tuesday morning are up just a bit because of some clouds rolling in…<\/p>\n Some light snow and flurries will be possible Tuesday and the NAM has a good view of those…<\/p>\n Temps tank again by Wednesday morning with readings heading below zero once again for many areas…<\/p>\n While the temps are bad enough, the wind chills are into the danger zone. Watch how the wind chills slide from 7pm this evening through 8am MLK Day morning…<\/p>\n Some -15 degree wind chills are possible. Those wind chills only recover into the single digits through the holiday.<\/p>\n Wind chills by Tuesday morning aren’t as cold as this morning but will still be way down there. As winds gust up again through the day and into Wednesday morning, wind chill numbers reach the danger zone again…<\/p>\n The next system to impact our weather is a clipper Thursday into Friday. This may put down a light snowfall as it swings in from the northwest…<\/p>\n I’ll have another update later today.
