<\/p>\nGood evening, everyone. Arctic snows continue to slowly wind down across central and eastern Kentucky as bitterly cold air rushes in. This leads us into a full-blown Frozen Pipes ALERT as temps drop way down there.<\/p>\n

A Cold Weather Advisory is out through Monday…<\/p>\n
That should get extended all the way through Wednesday as this arctic air mass digs in.<\/p>\n Wind chills tonight drop to -5 to -15 across the state and we barely make it into the single digits for wind chills into much of the region on MLK Day. This animation shows wind chills from 8am through 11pm Monday…<\/p>\n There’s a disturbance pushing through here on Tuesday and this is likely to touch off some light snow and flurries. The NAM future radar has the best handle on this…<\/p>\n Given the arctic nature of the snows, it won’t take much for coatings to 1″ to show up in a few areas.<\/p>\n Wind chills aren’t as cold Tuesday morning but they return later in the day through Wednesday. This wind chill animation goes from 8am Tuesday to 8am Wednesday…<\/p>\n The pattern will throw a light snow maker in here late Thursday into Friday and I’m becoming more interested in the setup later next weekend into the final week of the month.
