It&#8217;s another brutally cold day across Kentucky and surrounding states as it gets even colder tonight and early Wednesday. While the extreme cold will ease in the coming days, we still keep things very cold with some snow chances.<\/p>\n<p>Do not mess with arctic air over top of a healthy snowpack!! Temps this morning absolutely tanked for the areas that kept clear skies going. Check out the coldest numbers from the morning via the Kentucky Mesonet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/Gh0_1X1X0AARkpM?format=jpg&amp;name=small\" alt=\"Image\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Temps this afternoon are in the teens with another system rolling through with some flurries and pockets of light snow across the east. Wait&#8230; What?? Yes, a Blizzard Warning is out for parts of northeast Texas and Louisiana with winter storm warnings now deep into Florida&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/x-hv1.pivotalweather.com\/maps\/warnings\/nwshaz.us_se.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Talk about a weather world gone mad&#8230; Wow!!!<\/p>\n<p>Back here on the ranch, actual low temps tonight can reach -10 to -15 in some of the coldest valleys. This could very well be the coldest night in 10 years for much of our region. The Canadian Model has been the closest with the morning lows over the past few days and it&#8217;s insisting on a brutal night. These are the actual lows it&#8217;s showing&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-24.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69420\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-24.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"964\" height=\"757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-24.png 964w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-24-300x236.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-24-768x603.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 964px) 100vw, 964px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And the wind chill forecast from 7pm this evening through 8am tomorrow&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-2-18.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69419\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-2-18.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The EURO isn&#8217;t too far behind with wind chills reaching -15&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/EURO-41.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69417\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/EURO-41.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once again, the American Models like the GFS and NAM are running much too warm with temps and wind chills. These models have serious issues and lead to poor forecasts and headlines if you don&#8217;t know how to use them properly.<\/p>\n<p>Temps are still frigid after tomorrow, but we lose the extreme feel. Another light snow and flurry maker rides through here late Thursday into Friday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-45.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-69418\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/Canadian-45.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After this, we watch for a southern system to scoot from west to east to our south.
