The potential for heavy rain is on the rise over the next few days and that&#8217;s not good news for 4th of July plans. The rainfall is really going to add up as we go into Thursday and Friday and will put the region in an elevated risk for flooding.<\/p>\n<p>The storms we fire up today will continue to be rather scattered, but will also pack a big punch. Heavy downpours can cause localized high water issues and these storms will contain hail and high winds. Here&#8217;s regional radar for your tracking enjoyment&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A huge river of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will take aim at the state late tonight through Thursday and Friday. A supply of deep moisture will feed into the area and this will cause torrential rains to develop. That setup will continue into Friday and through the weekend. As a matter of fact&#8230; the models keep a similar pattern in place into the middle of the month.
