Our winter storm continues to press across Kentucky with two waves of snow and bitterly cold temps that are here for the rest of the week. This is another harsh week of winter weather across Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>A Winter Storm Warning is out for many areas early today with a Winter Weather Advisory going up later today and tonight, even though all of this is from the same system. Nothing like complicating the message for the public, eh?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at the Warnings and Advisories&#8230;<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/x-hv1.pivotalweather.com\/maps\/warnings\/nwshaz.us_ov.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a breakdown of how things play out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heavy snow this morning puts down a general 1&#8243;-4&#8243; for areas along and south of Interstate 64.<\/li>\n<li>This snow comes to an end from west to east.<\/li>\n<li>The next round of snow arrives into central and eastern Kentucky by evening and continues into early Thursday.<\/li>\n<li>That round puts down another 1&#8243;-2&#8243; for many areas.<\/li>\n<li>All of this adds up to the general 3&#8243;-6&#8243; of snow for areas along and south of Interstate 64. Locally higher amounts will be with us in the southeast.<\/li>\n<li>Winds will be rather gusty and we will see some blowing and minor drifting of the dry snows.<\/li>\n<li>Temps will be in bitterly cold range, especially with wind chills, through Friday morning.<\/li>\n<li>Wind chills through that time may drop to 0 to -10 at times.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Because of the bitter cold, a Cold Weather Advisory is out for many areas&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2-MAP-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70204\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2-MAP-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"911\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2-MAP-8.jpg 911w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2-MAP-8-300x170.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2-MAP-8-768x435.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 911px) 100vw, 911px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Check out the wind chills forecast from 7pm this evening through 11pm Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EURO-40.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70214\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EURO-40.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ouch.<\/p>\n<p>The pattern eases a bit this weekend into early next week, but Old Man Winter isn&#8217;t through with us just yet.
