Good Sunday, everyone. The first week of July has been a heck of a weather week here in Kentucky. Record amounts of rain and flooding have been common across the state. Rounds of showers and storms continue to move across the area today bringing a renewed high water threat for some.<\/p>\n

The conveyor belt of flooding rains from the Gulf of Mexico will slowly shut off later today. That’s the good news. The bad news? It’s not going to shut down our chances for showers and storms as we have plenty of action for the upcoming work week.<\/p>\n

The storms of today will be more prominent across the eastern half of the state. That’s where the flood threat will be highest for today.<\/p>\n

Scattered showers and storms will be around Monday into Tuesday and these will have the capability of putting down more heavy rain. A few could be on the strong side. The flow from Tuesday through Friday will be one that can deliver us additional rounds of storms from the northwest.<\/p>\n

To make matters even worse, many of the medium range models are developing a nasty upper level low and spinning it right on top of us…<\/p>\n

Guess what that would bring? If you said more rain and cool temps… you’re a winner!<\/p>\n

Moral of the story… we have a lot of rounds of rain and storms to go through over the next few weeks and likely through the rest of summer.<\/p>\n
