Good evening, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the developing nasty weather rolling into the region for the weekend. Severe storms, high winds and flooding rains are all possible through Saturday night.<\/p>\n

The initial line of strong to severe storms will be zipping into western Kentucky in the coming hours but should weaken some as it moves into central Kentucky early Saturday morning. From there, it’s game on for rounds of strong to severe storms to push across the state with the greatest emphasis on central and eastern Kentucky.<\/p>\n

The future radar from the HRRR shows the waves of storms very well. This animation starts at 8am Saturday and goes through 8am Sunday…<\/p>\n

That’s concerning for the severe threat and the heavy rain potential. That same run is spitting out a ton of rain across central and eastern Kentucky…<\/p>\n

A Flood Watch has been issued for parts of these same areas but may not be expansive enough…<\/p>\n

The Storm Prediction Center continues to highlight western Kentucky with the Enhanced to Moderate Risk for severe storms this evening into the wee hours of Saturday\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The tornado potential continues to be way up there across the west before that threat decreases quickly into central Kentucky…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The damaging wind threat is high in the west\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The chance for golf ball or greater hail is there in the far west…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This brings us to Saturday and what is likely to be a major outbreak of severe storms and tornadoes across the south. This area is now under a HIGH RISK for severe weather…<\/p>\n

While the main threat for tornadoes is to our south, the chance is there for a few tornadoes to spin up across Kentucky. There\u2019s the Saturday Tornado Outlook from the SPC\u2026<\/p>\n

The damaging wind threat continues to be the top dog\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Some of the storms may also spit out quarter-sized hail or a little larger. Here\u2019s the Severe Hail Outlook from the SPC\u2026<\/p>\n
