Our line of severe thunderstorms is racing into the state and will push through tonight with damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible. This kicks off a very active pattern that will feature a multi-day severe weather event and potential significant flooding.<\/p>\n<p>In the short-term, the overall setup really hasn&#8217;t changed much as the Storm Prediction Center keeps most of the state in the Enhanced Risk for severe storms tonight&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png?1716321907\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The tornado risk continues to be the greatest across western Kentucky with some of that getting into central parts of the state before fading in the east&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_TORN.png?1742388664\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Damaging winds are the main player&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_WIND.png?1742388785\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The large hail potential is mainly confined to the west&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_HAIL.png?1742388791\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Chilly winds blow behind this departing system Monday afternoon into Tuesday before we get into a VERY ugly setup from Wednesday through next weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This is the pattern we&#8217;ve been talking about for a while now and other agencies are now jumping on board with the potential. The Storm Prediction Center continues to have a very high signal for severe weather on Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody4_PROB.png?1743239163\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The latest guidance from the Colorado State Machine Learning Probabilities Prediction is really ominous for severe weather Wednesday into Wednesday night&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-5.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70805\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-5.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-5.png 700w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-5-300x239.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That shows up Thursday as well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-2-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-70804\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-2-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"697\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-2-2.png 697w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/SEVERE-2-2-300x241.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 697px) 100vw, 697px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Storm Prediction Center is also highlighting this with a Thursday severe storms risk&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody5_PROB.png?1743325508\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That severe risk may very well go through next weekend.<\/p>\n<p>This setup is concerning for more than just severe weather.
