Good evening, everyone. A multi-day severe weather and flood event is about to get started across Kentucky and surrounding areas. The setup can bring historic amounts of rain into parts of the region.<\/p>\n

A Wind Advisory is out for much of Kentucky on Wednesday as gusts may hit 50mph out ahead of the approaching storm system. Temps may surge to 80 on this strong southwest wind.<\/p>\n

A Flood Watch remains in effect for much of the region from Wednesday through Sunday…<\/p>\n

I’ve beefed up the rainfall numbers across central and western Kentucky by expanding the area of 6″-12″ and putting a “locally higher” for the west…<\/p>\n

The GFS continues to go above and beyond that forecast with more than 15″ of rain showing up in the west…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The first round of severe storms moves into western Kentucky late Wednesday afternoon and evening. This is where a Moderate Risk is located…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Storm Prediction Center has much of central and western Kentucky in a fairly high tornado risk later Wednesday\u2026<\/p>\n

The tornado risk in the west is the greatest and that also shows up on the HRRR…<\/p>\n

Widespread wind damage is also expected\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Severe hail is a good bet across the west\u2026<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

That threat from the SPC continues into Thursday…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Then Friday…<\/p>\n
