Good Sunday, everyone. We’ve had some on again off again storms over the past week or so, but the overall setup is looking stormier for the week ahead. These storms will likely produce local flash flooding issues during this time.<\/p>\n

Scattered storms are out there today before an increase in the action this evening into Monday. That’s when some more pronounced clusters of storms rumble from west to east across the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n

You can see this on the future radar from the Hi Res NAM that goes from 8 this morning through Monday night…<\/p>\n

The fun doesn’t end here as waves of thunderstorms appear set to rumble through here for the rest of the week into next weekend. This happens as our storm zone that’s been to our north and northwest, settles farther south into our region…<\/p>\n

We will have to eventually watch for a complex or two of severe storms out of this setup, but I’m going to focus more on the flash flood potential. The GFS has a lot of rain through this time next weekend…<\/p>\n

The ICON is seeing the same thing…<\/p>\n

The EURO has had a difficult time finding rain in what’s been one of the wettest years on record around here. Still, the model is seeing the potential…<\/p>\n

I’ve been talking about the pattern being ripe for possible tropical development near Florida or into the Gulf and now we find the National Hurricane Center putting a spotlight on this area…<\/p>\n

We are quickly getting to the time of year where tropical development can alter the overall pattern across the eastern half of the country.<\/p>\n
