Torrential rains and strong storms blasted the Bluegrass state Thursday, and this pattern is just getting started. Rounds of showers and storms will continue today and hang tough this weekend into the first half of next week.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what you need to know:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thunderstorms today will come at us in clusters and can put down local 2&#8243;-4&#8243; rain amounts in a short amount of time.<\/li>\n<li>Additional areas of flash flooding are a good bet.<\/li>\n<li>Bigger complexes of thunderstorms develop to our northwest and drop into Kentucky over the weekend into early next week.<\/li>\n<li>These storms will be loaded with lightning and torrential rains, bringing several inches of rain for some areas.<\/li>\n<li>Flash flooding is a good bet once again with the greatest threat across central and eastern parts of the state.<\/li>\n<li>Some of these storm complexes could be strong or severe, bringing the potential for damaging winds.<\/li>\n<li>Outside of the storms, it&#8217;s a steam bath of an atmosphere.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Flood Watches are out for parts of the region today and some of these should get extended into the weekend.
