Good Tuesday, everyone. Flooding rains smacked parts of central and eastern Kentucky again Monday. High water reports were common with rainfall of 1″-4″ on the day. We are about to turn the faucet off as a fall cold front rolls in here later today. This front will bring the coolest air of the summer to our region… and that’s saying something.<\/p>\n

Scattered storms today will be along and ahead of a cold front that settles southward during the afternoon and evening. The greatest threat for storms will be across the southern half of the area and we could see a few more big time downpours. Here’s regional radar…<\/p>\n

The air behind this front has the potential to set record lows from Wednesday through Friday. Check out the numbers…<\/p>\n

Lows may drop into the mid and upper 40s in several spots during this time. Wow… that would be some chilly stuff for the middle of August.<\/p>\n

The pattern this weekend into early next week is a bit murky because of the possibility of something tropical developing down in the Gulf. We will have to see how that goes, but a lot of the models have some sort of closed low developing across our region this weekend…<\/p>\n

That should create, at least, scattered showers and thunderstorms. Yippee!<\/p>\n
