Good afternoon, everyone. We continue to track the potential for a winter storm to impact the region late Monday into Tuesday. I’m not quite ready to pull the trigger for a Winter Storm THREAT just yet, but it’s close.<\/p>\n

Before we get to that system, I have no changes to the forecast for the weaker system moving in today and Sunday…<\/p>\n

Everyone goes over to rain tonight with snow flurries and crazy cold wind chills taking control Sunday.<\/p>\n

The models are slowly coming into better agreement but still have some differences in how they handle this next system. The issue is what to do with the lead low that moves toward the southern Appalachian Mountains with the primary low scooting from the deep south into the Carolinas.<\/p>\n

I haven’t changed my areas of focus, but I will be focusing in even more as we get closer…<\/p>\n

The Canadian Model is similar but I’m still not digging the tremendous amount of freezing rain it’s trying to spit out…<\/p>\n

The EURO is oddly enough farther southeast and weaker…<\/p>\n
