Good evening, everyone. I promised to drop by for a quick update and I’m a weatherdude of my word. Our first system is rolling through the region with a mixed back, setting the stage for a bigger system to roll in by early next week.<\/p>\n

The mix out there this evening is a result of the things you’ve been reading about here… Dry air in place and weak warm air advection. Minor accumulations will show up across northern Kentucky, but the majority of the snow is well north of us.<\/p>\n

Brutally cold wind chills surge in for Sunday as some flurries fly. This is ahead of our developing winter weather maker rolling in late Monday into Tuesday. We still have a lot of question marks with this system and the models are still not on the same page, so I’m not going to pull the trigger on a low-end Winter Storm THREAT just yet.<\/p>\n

However, I’m getting more specific with the areas of impact and homing in on the area that may see the worst of this storm…<\/p>\n

Obviously, it’s still early in the game as the models struggle to get a handle on this. A First Call for Snowfall Map should come your way later tonight.<\/p>\n

The GFS continues to trend a little snowier with our system…<\/p>\n

The Short Range Canadian still has that area of Freezing Rain…<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The EURO is doing something we don’t typically see the EURO do and that’s to be the weakest and most progressive with a storm system. This would bring a light snowfall to most of the state with light being the key word…<\/p>\n

This system kicks off what is likely a harsh December for much of the United States. The latest Ensembles snowfall maps show lots of snow chances over the next two weeks…<\/p>\n
