We have a strong cold front tracking across the bluegrass state today. This front will bring sscattered showers and thunderstorms to the region and a few could be on the strong side. Once the front swings through here&#8230; MUCH cooler and drier air sweeps in for a few days.<\/p>\n<p>The boomers that go up today will be efficient rain and lightning producers as the swing eastward. One or two may contain high winds and small hail. Not everyone will get in on the action as the Saturday storms took a lot out of the atmosphere. Temps will warm back into the 80s for the second half of the week with mainly dry weather. What do I think happens this month? Temps average out within a degree of normal with precipitation slightly above normal. Two things are showing up in some of the analog years I have been looking at. The first is the potential for a late month shot of upper 30s. The other is the possibility of getting in on a big rainfall event&#8230; maybe from a tropical system.
