Our overachieving snow is now a thing of the past, but the overall pattern isn&#8217;t slowing down. We have some big winds and more snow chances on the way this week into the coming weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The snows even went above and beyond what I thought across the northeast where some 4&#8243; amounts were reported. Old Man Winter is in a mood and will likely overachieve anytime he gets the chance right now.<\/p>\n<p>Before he has another chance to do so, we get some big winds in here later Tuesday into Wednesday. 40mph-50mph wind gusts are a good bet for much of the region ahead of an arctic front arriving Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/nam-9.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74473\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/nam-9.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"965\" height=\"756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/nam-9.png 965w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/nam-9-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/nam-9-768x602.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 965px) 100vw, 965px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-11.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74474\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-11.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"961\" height=\"752\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-11.png 961w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-11-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-11-768x601.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 961px) 100vw, 961px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That boundary has a line of VERY gusty showers ahead of it with snow showers and a few snow squalls behind it. You can see this transition on the future radar from the Hi Res NAM that starts Wednesday morning, but only goes through 1am Thursday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/NAM-10.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74475\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/NAM-10.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The latest from the Short Range Canadian shows the snow showers and a few squalls getting a booster shot from Lake Michigan. This also gets to the beginning of the Thursday night\/Friday light snowmaker&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CANADIAN-15.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74476\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CANADIAN-15.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s a system that will likely put down accumulating snows into Friday. It will then be followed up by the chance for a bigger system on Saturday and Saturday night. All the models are seeing this, but vary greatly on what to do with it.<\/p>\n<p>The Parallel Canadian gives us a look at all three systems from Wednesday through Sunday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CANADIAN-2-4.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74477\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/CANADIAN-2-4.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GFS is seeing the first two well, but is lighter with the weekend system&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-18.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-74478\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/GFS-18.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t be surprised if we don&#8217;t see more of a phased solution showing up over the next few days.<\/p>\n<p>The full update comes your way later tonight.
