Our Thursday isn&#8217;t turning out as ugly as I thought as the overnight rains were trucking on through the state leaving us with a partly sunny sky for many. We will still be seeing some isolated showers today&#8230; but the added sun will boost some areas into the 50s.<BR><BR>Some notes on our weather future&#8230;<BR><BR>&#8211; Friday will be windy and very mild with temps making a run at 60 under a mix of sun and clouds. Some scattered showers and storms will be possible.<BR><BR>&#8211; A strong cold front will cross the state from New Year&#8217;s Eve into early New Year&#8217;s Day. Showers and thunderstorms will be along this front with heavy rains a good bet. Winds will crank as well.<BR><BR>&#8211; Temps New Year&#8217;s Day will fall toward the 30s from west to east.<BR><BR>&#8211; There is a possibility we get a wave of low pressure to form along the front as it works to our east. This could cause a band of light snow to break out late Saturday night into early Sunday across the east. Both the NAM and GFS are spitting out some light accumulations for some&#8230;<BR><BR><IMG style=\"BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px solid; BORDER-LEFT: 0px solid; BORDER-TOP: 0px solid; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px solid\" src=\"http:\/\/images.quickblogcast.com\/0\/4\/8\/0\/3\/139967-130840\/NAMSnow23.png?a=13\"><BR><BR>Next week will see a couple of weak systems trying to move in with colder air and a chance of some light snows. The Canadian Model shows the little system I have been hawking for later Tuesday into Wednesday&#8230;<BR><BR><IMG style=\"WIDTH: 650px; HEIGHT: 552px\" name=image1 src=\"http:\/\/www.meteocentre.com\/models\/gemglb_amer_12\/P6_PN_144_0000.gif\"><BR><BR>Beyond that map is when things will begin to head back into a very wintry pattern. We have the period of Jan. 6th through Jan. 10th to watch for a winter storm somewhere across the east.
