Small changes are showing up on the radar today and this is just a very small sample of what&#8217;s to come. The patter over the next few weeks is about to take a serious walk on the cold side. A major pattern change is about to take place across North America.<\/p>\n<p>The small change today includes isolated showers and storms going up. The best chance will be across eastern Kentucky. Regional radar will help you out&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/radar-large.asp?partner=netweather&amp;traveler=0&amp;site=KY_&amp;type=SIR&amp;anim=1&amp;level=state&amp;large=1#\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sirocco.accuweather.com\/nx_mosaic_640x480_public\/sir\/inmaSIRKY_.gif\" usemap=\"#largemap\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With some clouds and isolated action, temps will be a little cooler than the past few days.<\/p>\n<p>Monday looks like the best day of the week ahead with partly sunny skies and temps back into the middle 70s. Winds will be gusty from the southwest as a cold front inches our way from the west. That front will be the catalyst for our change to cold weather.<\/p>\n<p>It will also bring showers and thunderstorms our way by late Tuesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-33.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7726\" alt=\"GFS 3\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-33.png\" width=\"318\" height=\"332\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-33.png 318w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-33-287x300.png 287w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 318px) 100vw, 318px\" \/><\/a>How much rain we get and how long it lasts will depend on if we can get a wave or low pressure to develop along the boundary. Regardless&#8230; cold air filters in behind the front for the second half of the week. That&#8217;s when we get to models to diverge.<\/p>\n<p>The GFS brings\u00a0 very cold air southward behind a simple frontal passage&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS7.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7728\" alt=\"GFS\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS7.png\" width=\"382\" height=\"422\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS7.png 382w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS7-271x300.png 271w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 382px) 100vw, 382px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The European Model brings a similar air mass our way, but goes about it in a different way. It shows a significant storm rolling in from southwest to northeast&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Euro-23.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7729\" alt=\"Euro 2\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Euro-23.png\" width=\"347\" height=\"349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Euro-23.png 347w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Euro-23-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Euro-23-298x300.png 298w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><\/a>That has a winter look to it and would produce snow in the western Ohio Valley and Great Lakes.
