We are in the closing days of April and we have our first true severe threat of the entire month moving in today. Severe storms may come at us in waves from this evening through Tuesday night and early Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a breakdown:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One cluster of strong and severe storms may impact far western Kentucky this morning and early afternoon.<\/li>\n<li>A line of strong to severe storms moves into far western Kentucky early this evening and rolls eastward.<\/li>\n<li>This line will weaken some as it moves into central Kentucky with further weakening as it moves into the east.<\/li>\n<li>Damaging wind is the primary player with this line of storms with the chance for a few tornadoes in the west.<\/li>\n<li>A windy break in the storms takes place early Tuesday into the first part of the afternoon.<\/li>\n<li>Clusters of strong to severe storms then develop late Tuesday afternoon and evening.<\/li>\n<li>These storms then increase Tuesday night and continue into early Wednesday.<\/li>\n<li>Damaging winds and large hail are the main players.<\/li>\n<li>Even with our region being extremely dry, torrential rains may cause local flash flooding.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a look at today&#8217;s Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png?1777211599\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, the tornado risk later today and this evening is mainly confined to the west&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_TORN.png?1777211771\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Damaging Wind threat is the main player with this line of storms&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_WIND.png?1777211841\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The large hail threat is mainly to the west of Kentucky&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1_HAIL.png?1777212022\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tuesday&#8217;s Severe Weather Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center looks like this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody2.png?1777182363\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the outlook for Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody3.png?1777188732\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The future radar from the HRRR shows the evolution of this first severe threat through tonight.
