We&#8217;re starting out the day on a frosty note across much of the bluegrass state with temps in the low and mid 30s. If you think this is cold&#8230; just wait until you see what&#8217;s coming in a few days. As the title says&#8230; this is one heck of a cold pattern we&#8217;re going into.<\/p>\n<p>Highs today will warm toward the low 60s under partly sunny skies. Monday will start with upper 30s and end with low and mid 60s. Winds will gust up ahead of a fast moving cold front. That system arrives Tuesday morning with a lot of wind, showers and cold air&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-26.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7780\" alt=\"NAM 1\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NAM-1.png\" width=\"268\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NAM-1.png 268w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/NAM-1-235x300.png 235w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 268px) 100vw, 268px\" \/><\/a>Man, that is one nasty looking start to the day!<\/p>\n<p>The next system dives in here on Wednesday and works across the Ohio Valley from west to east. This will bring more wind, showers and even colder air. With such cold air moving in aloft&#8230; we continue to see the small potential of a few flakes or a touch of sleet mixing in&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-26.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7781\" alt=\"GFS 2\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-26.png\" width=\"468\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-26.png 468w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS-26-300x166.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 100vw, 468px\" \/><\/a>Temps Wednesday should only hit the low to mid 40s for highs. That may be generous for a few spots. Keep an eye out for another disturbance or two to dive in from the northwest behind that one. Regardless&#8230; the air coming in behind the Wednesday system is COLD. It&#8217;s rare to have the potential for 3 straight mornings in the 20s in October&#8230;<a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7782\" alt=\"GFS\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/GFS12.png\" width=\"240\" height=\"737\" \/><\/a>We could challenge a record low or two before all is said and done.<\/p>\n<p>Another front will dive in from the northwest Saturday night and Sunday.
