It’s been a busy day of travel and your friendly weatherdude is a little on the tired side. That means we are only gonna hit the high notes with this update. As always, I will make it up to you over the next few days.

A fast moving system will bring another round of chilly showers of sleet, rain and some flakes to the region. Here’s regional radar…

Temps today will stay in the low and mid 40s for central and eastern Kentucky. The west will head toward the low 50s with a tad more sunshine.

As skies clear tonight… record lows will be possible. Readings will drop into the mid and upper 20s for most of the state. A few of the cold spots may drop into the low 20s. It simply doesn’t get much colder than that for this time of the year.

Friday will feature some sun and temps only in the 40s again. Saturday starts in the 20s with low 50s coming your way by the afternoon under a partly sunny sky. The next cold front arrives Saturday night into early Sunday. This will bring an increase in clouds and a few cold showers back into town.

The models continue to have issues with the pattern for next week. The massive cold shot is aimed more toward the west and develops a huge storm across the plains. The models then take this toward the northern Ohio Valley into the Great Lakes by Halloween…

That would make for some nasty trick or treating for the kiddos. admittedly , I have not had a lot of time to look at the pattern for next week.
