A significant flash flood threat is with us through the upcoming weekend. Of course, this doesn&#8217;t mean everyone gets in on flash flooding as most won&#8217;t see anything, but other won&#8217;t be so fortunate.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a quick breakdown of how things may play out:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rounds of showers and storms press across the state today and hang around through the weekend.<\/li>\n<li>This is NOT wall to wall rains and you will have plenty of dry hours to get outside.<\/li>\n<li>The greatest flash flood threat looks to set up across the southern half of the state.<\/li>\n<li>Several inches of rain will be possible for many.<\/li>\n<li>The flash flooding will likely come in narrow corridors where storms move over the same areas one right after another.<\/li>\n<li>Some of this flooding may become life-threatening, similar to what happened a few weeks ago.<\/li>\n<li>The possibility of a few strong storms is there, especially across the west and south today.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most of the region is under a Flood Watch through Saturday night and Sunday morning&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/webpubcontent.gray.tv\/wkyt\/WEBWATCHES.jpg\" alt=\"Watches\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Weather Prediction Center continues to highlight the increased flash flood threat with the Excessive Rainfall Outlooks from today through Sunday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/exper\/eromap\/statemaps\/KY_Day1.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/exper\/eromap\/statemaps\/KY_Day2.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov\/exper\/eromap\/statemaps\/KY_Day3.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The low-end risk for a few severe storms is with us today as well. The Storm Prediction Center has another risk for the west and south&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.spc.noaa.gov\/partners\/outlooks\/state\/images\/KY_swody1.png?1783540934\" \/><\/p>\n<p>By Sunday, we run the risk of a slow-moving low to spin through the region, keeping the chance for some high water going.
