It&#8217;s the final day of August which means Meteorological Summer is coming to an end. Of course, that doesn&#8217;t mean the summer temps are over as September will be starting out with a little bit of sizzle.<\/p>\n<p>Temps today start the run of 90-95 degree high temp days that will carry us through Thursday. Some spots may go a touch above that on a day or two. Humidity levels are nowhere near what we had weeks ago, but our heat index numbers are still going to climb.<\/p>\n<p>September starts with a 95-100 heat index central and eastern Kentucky with higher numbers in the west&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-3.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-78628\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"757\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-3.png 960w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-3-300x237.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-3-768x606.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Heat Index numbers climb a little more for Wednesday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-2-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-78627\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-2-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"967\" height=\"756\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-2-1.png 967w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-2-1-300x235.png 300w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Canadian-2-1-768x600.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 967px) 100vw, 967px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thursday may very well be the hottest of the bunch before we slowly see some changes by Friday into Labor Day Weekend.
