Good Thursday to one and all. It’s another scorcher of a weather day with today likely being the hottest day of the week. This is ahead of the increasing potential for a few storms to impact the state as we head into the start of that Labor Day Weekend. Some of the storms may be strong.<\/p>\n

Temps today reach the low and middle 90s for most areas with 95-100 for areas along and west of Interstate 65. Humidity levels will come up today, meaning some areas may finally get close to the Heat Advisory criteria… Maybe. That is for a heat index of 105 for 2 consecutive hours. So far, we haven’t even been close for most of the region.<\/p>\n

The increase in moisture also means the chance for isolated storms going up. The best chance for any strong or severe storms will be to our northeast…<\/p>\n

A better chance for a few strong to severe storms will show up on Friday with a low-end risk for severe weather across central and eastern Kentucky…<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Highs on Friday will still be in the low and middle 90s for many with a heat index topping 100. Any storm will cool certainly help things out some.<\/p>\n

With a boundary dropping in from the north and northeast, the potential for storms increases on Saturday. Once again, a few booming storms will be possible through the afternoon. The future radar from the RRFS has a potent line of storms…<\/p>\n

Temps come way down from northeast to southwest behind this boundary from late Saturday into Sunday. Sunday should feel much better for the entire region, especially across central and eastern Kentucky…<\/p>\n

That heat pushes back in by Tuesday and Wednesday on a strong southwest flow ahead of another cold front dropping in here late Wednesday and Thursday or next week. This may be followed by another front a few days later…<\/p>\n
