Another wave of low pressure is rolling through the region today, bringing more in the way of showers and thunderstorms. This will be followed by one heck of a backdoor cold front arriving Sunday night.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s showers and storms won&#8217;t be constant, but they can bring a lot of lightning and locally heavy rains. A Flood Watch is out across the far east and northeast through this evening&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" lazyloaded\" src=\"https:\/\/webpubcontent.gray.tv\/wkyt\/WEBWATCHES.jpg\" alt=\"Watches\" data-src=\"https:\/\/webpubcontent.gray.tv\/wkyt\/WEBWATCHES.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Temps today will range from the mid 70s to mid 80s, depending on where you are across the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday is a windy and very warm day with 80s for most, with the 90 possible in the west. This is ahead of an approaching cold front dropping in from the north. This brings some showers and storms Sunday night into early Monday&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/WRF-2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-78764\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/WRF-2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"808\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It also brings some MUCH cooler air for Monday, especially in central and eastern Kentucky. That leads us into a convoluted mess of a pattern for late next week into the following weeks.
