Good Tuesday afternoon, gang. The snow forecast worked out like a charm and now the arctic cold is taking center stage. This hangs around for a few days and then gives way to another dramatic system this weekend into early next week.<\/p>\n
Many areas this morning picked up their coating to 1″. A few spots topped out just over the 1″ amount as the snow peppered down at a good clip. For Lexington… it has now snowed on two different dates… October 24th and today. Both featured a record snowfall for the respective dates. If you’re playing along at home… the last time Lexington had snow in October and during the first two weeks of November… 1993. That is a year on my winter analog list.<\/p>\n
In the short term… temps hit the upper teens tonight under mainly clear skies. Highs recover into the 30s on Wednesday. Showers will increase by Friday ahead of a warmer surge of air this weekend. This will be ahead of a big storm system that develops in the plains states and rolls toward the Great Lakes by Monday.<\/p>\n
Showers and thunderstorms will develop ahead of the front as temps spike toward the 60s. That front slams in here on Monday and unleashes another shot of arctic air…<\/p>\n
