Good Tuesday to one and all. We have a super-duper fast moving light snow event scooting across the state early today. This bad boy will be in and out of the state in a 6-8 hour window and that’s being generous. The target area still appears to be snow starved southern and southeastern Kentucky.<\/p>\n

I have no real changes to the forecast I put out Monday evening. Areas from the Bluegrass Parkway into the Lexington region may be the areas on the short end of the snow stick. Parts of northern Kentucky could see around an inch. Much of eastern and southeastern Kentucky will likely pick up 1″-4″ of the white stuff. Higher amounts will be noted in the highest mountains.<\/p>\n

Like all events… a sharp cutoff to the REAL accumulating snow will be noted on the western side of the main shield. Exactly where that is remains to be seen, but it may get close to the bluegrass region of central Kentucky.<\/p>\n

\"GFS\"<\/a>Highs only reach 20-25 degrees under a partly sunny sky.<\/p>\n

The next storm system roll in by Friday night into the weekend. This one continues to take on a colder look. The GFS shows a mix to start and quite a bit of snow shower and squall action after the system passes…\"GFS<\/a>The Canadian Model is even colder, but also shows a wicked squall outbreak Saturday night through Sunday night…\"Canadian\"<\/a>Sunday may be a very nasty day with blinding snow squalls, 30mph wind gusts, temps around 20 degrees with wind chills near 0.<\/p>\n

Another winter system arrives a few days after that by the middle of next week. The hits keep on coming.<\/p>\n
