Good Saturday afternoon, gang. Clouds continue to roll into the region today and these clouds will bring rain to the region overnight into Sunday. This will give way to a very wintry pattern taking shape for the week ahead. It’s a pattern that is going to try to produce a decent system by Thursday.<\/p>\n

Between now and then… we have some things to track. We know about the rain tomorrow that’s followed by a touch of light snow Sunday night. But, some models are hinting at a wave of low pressure bringing a swath of light snow to the south and east Monday Evening. The NAM is most aggressive…<\/p>\n

Again, with so many little\u00a0 systems floating around, we will have to watch each of them to see what they hold for us. That’s the case through New Year’s Day.<\/p>\n

The system coming in behind all this on Thursday continues to look like one that can develop into something much bigger around here and for the eastern half of the country.<\/p>\n

The GFS has it… loses it… then finds it… then comes up with something in between. It’s in the in between phase with the last run…<\/p>\n

\"GFS\"<\/a>As is… that it still a decent snow maker for the state. The other models are cranking out a much bigger system with a ton of arctic air coming in behind it. The Canadian Model…<\/p>\n

\"Canadian\"<\/a>Check out those thickness values by Friday morning. Wow… that would be some serious cold.<\/p>\n

The latest European Model continues to show a strong storm system coming together…<\/p>\n

\"Euro\"<\/a>I think it’s becoming very clear we will be dealing with a significant storm developing across our part of the world by Thursday. The exact impact on our weather will depend on many variables, including how much phasing takes place. That said… there is an increasing chance for a snowfall for most of the state during this time.<\/p>\n
