Good Sunday afternoon, all. We are enjoying a gorgeous January day here in the bluegrass state. Sunny skies and mild temps are giving your friendly weatherdude thoughts of spring. Alas, those are just thoughts and reality settles back in over the next few days. A series of clippers will usher in the return of winter.<\/p>\n

The first system arrives on Monday and it looks wet. A cold front drops in from the northwest as low pressure develops and works to our south and east. Rain will become likely and it’s possible it ends as a few flakes Monday night.<\/p>\n

That sets the stage for a vigorous clipper to work in late Tuesday into Tuesday night. This one is interesting to me as it may have a squall line of snow along the front. The NAM is even spitting out thundersnow with this!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Hi-Res NAM simulated radar is showing the\u00a0potential squall line\u00a0that’s followed by\u00a0snow showers and squalls\u00a0diving in from the northwest…<\/p>\n

\"NAM<\/a>The Canadian Model\u00a0has a similar look of a line of snow…<\/p>\n

\"Canadian\"<\/a><\/p>\n

All of that\u00a0will be followed by a strong northwesterly wind flow into Wednesday.\u00a0That means a continuation of snow showers and a\u00a0few squalls…<\/p>\n

The\u00a0next\u00a0clipper arrives by the end of the week with\u00a0another snow chance…<\/p>\n

This is going to be a VERY windy week as these cold shots pour in. Teachers and kiddos… I do expect a few school delays and cancellations for the week ahead. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
