We are going to squeeze out one more mainly nice day before we get into some big time chilly weather for this time of year as a front blows in later today into this evening. That front will bring a band of rains our way and the threat for showers will stick around for a few days as low pressure cuts off across the Ohio Valley.

I have to admit something here… I just had the blog monster eat the full post I had written so you guys get the scaled down version since I do not feel like writing it all again.

Temps today will reach the lower 70s ahead of the front. Winds will crank up as the front approaches and it will likely bring a band of showers into the state from northwest to southeast late this afternoon into the evening. You can track those showers here…

Temps will drop very quickly once the front moves through and temps will settle into the 50s for many areas by mid evening. Winds will continue to be gusty.

Sunday will start out with a big difference in weather across the state from west to east. The west will see mainly clear skies and that will allow temps to drop into the 30s leading to the chance for frost. Clouds and showers will be much more likely in the central and east where temps will only drop into the low 40s. The daytime highs may also see a big swing because of the clouds and showers verses partly sunny skies. The west will warm toward the low 60s while the east struggles with temps… big time. Readings may have a very tough time getting much above the low 50s. The NAM is showing even chillier temps for early Sunday afternoon…

The NAM is really trying to crank out some decent showers and rain totals from Sunday through Tuesday…

The GFS also has showers… but with lighter totals. Given the trends of the past few months… bank on the model showing the lighter rains.

Either way… this is going to be a very chilly and likely damp time.

I will have updates through the weekend so make sure to check back. Have a great Saturday and take care.

Good Saturday everyone and thanks for dropping by the blog.
