The powerhouse arctic front slammed through here this morning with highs winds, biting cold and some snow in the east. This front is slowing down a bit as it pushes to the southeast and it may be just close enough to bring a bit of light snow into the southeast Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The Hi-Resolution NAM is showing this well on the simulated radar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NAM12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8951\" alt=\"NAM\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NAM12.png\" width=\"370\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NAM12.png 370w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/NAM12-300x212.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Canadian Model is similar&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Canadian12.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8952\" alt=\"Canadian\" src=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Canadian12.png\" width=\"305\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Canadian12.png 305w, https:\/\/kyweathercenter.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Canadian12-296x300.png 296w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This means a couple of things&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; First, it could bring a period of light snow to our far southeastern counties.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Second, it keeps clouds around much of the area and that is likely to keep temps from bottoming out overnight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Instead of 0 to -10&#8230; any clouds would keep us in the 0 to +10 range for many.<\/p>\n<p>I will watch the late afternoon trends and have updates on that on WKYT-TV starting at 4.
