Our harsh winter continues across the bluegrass state and shows no signs of letting up. We just had a snowstorm, a icestorm and a disruptive snow in a 4 day period. The wild setup for this week was talked about here more than a week ago and was the source of some manufactured weather drama. I will continue to take the high road and let the weather speak for itself. 🙂

As I said… we have a lot of winter to go and I’m tracking the possibility of more snow makers over the next week.

A few snowflakes or snow showers will be around today as temps hang around in the low 20s. The snow and ice we have isn’t going anywhere and may still be around a week from now. I just don’t see any kind of a warm up that would cause any melting. As a matter of fact… we are likely to put more snow on the ground.

Several systems will impact our region through early next week. Some will be weak, but some may not be so weak. There is a ton going on in the atmosphere and the models will likely play catch up on individual systems.

The first arrives Friday night into Saturday and should produce a band of light snow. The GFS…

The Canadian Model has a little better reflection…

It wouldn’t take much to get a more wound up system and that will be something to watch for on the models later today.

The Canadian then brings another light snow maker in here later Sunday and Sunday night…

All of the models then develop a bigger storm Monday night into Tuesday…

Again… use caution in trying to pick out any one system to be weak or strong. Just realize we have several systems to track through the middle of next week.
